Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were - 1) to study the management of information technology system in the basic education institutes under the Office ofKhon Kaen Primary Education Service Area IV, 2) to do a comparative study of the school directors and teachers attitude over the management of information technology system in the basic education institutes under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Education Service Area IV, and 3) to study the processes for development of the management of information technology system in the basic education institutes under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Education Service Area IV. The population and sample in this study were the school directors and teachers working under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Education Service Area IV, in academic year 2012, 445 in total. The research instruments applied in this study were questionnaire regarding the attitude of the school directors and teachers over the management of information technology system in the basic education institutes, reliability α = .9586.

The result of the study found that

 1) The school directors and teachers had attitude over the management of information technology system in the basic education institutes under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Education Service Area IV, at the whole picture, in 5 aspects resulted in high scale. While ascertain in each aspect, the study found that the school directors and teachers placed the importance to the work report information system, academic administration information system, learner information system, administrative management information system, and general information system respectively.

2) For the comparative study of school directors and teachers attitude over the management of information system in the basic education institutes under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Education Service Area IV, this study found that, in the case of general information system, there was difference in which it had statistical significance at .05.

3) The study found considerable suggestion regarding the management of information system thus there should practical plans and policy in using information system in educational institution, including training to the officers the skills and useful techniques in using information system. The headquarter department should provide what were insufficient including expert officers in information system in the schools, and guided the schools directors and teachers to realize the significance of the information system and fully utilized it in the educational institution.
