Myanmar: Political Communication and Identity in the Manuha Temple

Abstract


study of the former king of Mon state named Manuha who lost power and rules to Bagan and was cativated as hostage and he was permitted to build temple as a Buddhist. He manipulated communication through Buddhist structure or building and this echoed by political concept, ideal to the public through the architectural interpretation “uneasiness-uncomforts” of the Buddha image in order to convey his office as the King once who used to be independent but then fell into hostage of Bagan beyond his expressions. Buddha image is therefore a tool for echoeing his political position “The driver of downhearted” which appear at Manuha temple of Bagan until now. The article needs to study political communication through what appears to be the creation of a Buddhist temple, sacred Manuha. The study analyzes the use of documents on this temple through political communication and measurement and current occurences.
