Abstract

แนวคิดอัตลักษณ์ท้องถิ่น เป็นแนวคิดที่ได้รับความสนใจเพิ่มมากขึ้นในปัจจุบันอันเป็นผลจากการกระแสโลกาภิวัฒน์ (globalization) ที่มีการเคลื่อนไหวเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วในทุกด้านไม่ว่าจะเป็นมิติทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ การเมือง สังคมและวัฒนธรรมโดยเป็นผลจากความก้าวหน้าทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีโดยเฉพาะในด้านข้อมูลข่าวสารและระบบสารสนเทศ นำมาซึ่งการเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์และการเชื่อมโยงของผู้คนทั่วโลกอย่างไร้พรมแดน ในแง่หนึ่งโลกาภิวัฒน์นำมาซึ่งความร่วมมือและการพัฒนาและสร้างนวัตกรรมใหม่ ๆ แต่อย่างไรก็ตามผลกระทบในแง่ลบของกระบวนการโลกาภิวัฒน์ซึ่งถือเป็นพัฒนาการอีกกระบวนการหนึ่งของระบบทุนนิยมก็นำมาซึ่งการครอบงำทางด้านวัฒนธรรมของกลุ่มประเทศโลกตะวันตกผ่านการไหลบ่าของทุนข้ามชาติที่ได้เข้ามาเก็บเกี่ยวผลประโยชน์จากกลุ่มประเทศที่ด้อยพัฒนาในรูปแบบที่หลากหลายไม่ว่าจะเป็นแนวคิดบริโภคนิยม วัตถุนิยม หรือการทำให้วัฒนธรรม ความเชื่อหรือประเพณีกลายเป็นสินค้า (commodification) อย่างไรก็ตามภายใต้กระแสโลกาภิวัฒน์ก็ได้สร้างกระบวนการท้องถิ่นนิยม (localism) อันเป็นการปลุกจิตสำนึกให้ผู้คนได้หันหลังย้อนมองมายังรากฐานของตนเองซึ่งได้แก่ความเป็นชุมชนท้องถิ่น เกิดกระบวนการรื้อฟื้นอัตลักษณ์ของชุมชน บทความนี้ได้นำเสนอความเป็นอัตลักษณ์ของชุมชนท้องถิ่นไทย การต่อสู้และการปรับตัวของอัตลักษณ์ชุมชนท้องถิ่นภายใต้กระแสโลกาภิวัฒน์และความเป็นรัฐชาติ และในท้ายที่สุดนำเสนอกระบวนการฟื้นฟูอัตลักษณ์ท้องถิ่นภายใต้แนวคิดท้องถิ่นนิยม (localism)

The local identity concept is the concept that has been interested today, and it is a result from the globalization which is moving quickly to changes in all aspects, whether the dimensions of economic, political, social, and cultural as a result of advances of science and technology, especially in the field of information and informationsystems led to the linkage and association of people around the world without borders in one aspect.The globalization brings of cooperation, development, and new innovation.  Notwithstanding, the negative impact of globalization is the process of development of capitalism which brings of the dominancein culture of the Western Worldcountriesthrough the influx transnational capital that they can also find the benefits from the underdeveloped countries in a variety of formats.Whether the concept is consumerism or materialistic, it makes culture beliefs or traditions to become a product. However, the under globalization has made a popular local process (localism) thatcreates consciencefor people to look backat their own foundations that is the local community causing the identity resurrecting process of the community.This article has presented the identity of the Thai local communities, the struggle and adaptation of local community identity under globalization, the nation state, and thelocal identity reconstruction process under the localism concept.
