บทคัดย่อ

          บทความชิ้นนี้ เป็นบทความวิชาการ ที่ได้ทำการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับเรื่องของการสักตั้งแต่การให้ความหมายของการสัก ความเชื่อเรื่องของการสักในแต่ละพื้นที่ และใช้แนวคิดทฤษฎีเข้ามาวิเคราะห์เพื่อสะท้อนถึงสิ่งที่ซ่อนอยู่ของการสัก ผ่านแนวคิดปรากฏการณ์วิทยา แนวคิดเรื่องสัญวิทยา และแนวคิดเรื่องวาทกรรม เพื่อให้เห็นถึงปรากฏการณ์ทางสังคมของเรื่องการสัก ตั้งแต่อดีตจนมาถึงปัจจุบัน กระบวนการเปลี่ยนผ่านทางความคิด การให้ความหมายที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามยุคสมัย และช่วงเวลา โดยได้ทำการศึกษารวบรวมข้อมูลเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้อง เช่นหนังสือ ข้อมูลทางอินเตอร์เน็ต เป็นต้น จากการศึกษาค้นคว้าและวิเคราะห์ พบว่า 1) การสักเป็นเรื่องของวัฒนธรรมในแต่ละพื้นที่ เป็นการให้ความสำคัญกับเรื่องของรอยสัก ความเชื่อ หรือการได้รับการยินยอมในพื้นที่นั้นๆ 2) การสักเป็นการสร้างพลังอำนาจ บนเรือนร่าง ออกมาเป็นรูปสัญลักษณ์ เป็นการแสดงถึงพลังอำนาจในการเป็นผู้นำครอบครัว ความพร้อมของการมีครอบครัว โดยผ่านรอยสักบนร่างกาย 3) การสักเป็นเรื่องของการแสดงความมีอัตลักษณ์ในสังคม เป็นการแสดงความเป็นตัวตนผ่านรอยสัก เช่น อดีตต้องมีรอยสักเพื่อให้รู้ว่าสังกัดหน่วยอะไร เพื่อจะได้รับความคุ้มครอง 4) การสักเป็นเรื่องของการยึดเหนี่ยวจิตใจ เนื่องจากยามที่ต้องไปออกรบ รอยสักที่อยู่บนร่างกายเป็นเครื่องยึดเหนี่ยวที่จะให้ศัตรูทำอันตรายมิได้   และ5) การสักเป็นเรื่องของการสร้างค่านิยมให้เกิดขึ้น ในแต่ละพื้นที่จะมีการสร้างค่านิยมให้กับการสัก การให้ความหมาย หรือสิ่งที่ซ่อนอยู่ในความหมายของการสัก ทำให้กลุ่มคนในพื้นที่นั้นๆ จะนิยมทำต่อๆ กันมา
