ผีตาโขน: พุทธศรัทธาในรูปแบบของวัฒนธรรมพื้นบ้าน

บทคัดย่อ

บทความฉบับนี้เป็นบทความทางวิชาการที่มุ่งประเด็นนำเสนอเนื้อหาสำคัญ เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมพื้นบ้าน เรียกว่าประเพณีผีตาโขน  และความสัมพันธ์ที่บ่งบอกถึงความมีศรัทธาต่อพระพุทธศาสนา ด้วยเหตุที่ภาคอีสานนั้น เป็นศูนย์รวมของวัฒนธรรมเก่าแก่ที่สืบเนื่องกันมาแต่โบราณ และชาวอีสานก็ยังเป็นผู้รักษาขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีอย่างเคร่งครัด มั่นคงในพุทธศาสนา และมีความเชื่อต่อวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น ที่เคยเคารพนับถือในสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธ์คู่บ้านคู่เมืองว่าสิ่งที่เป็นมงคลทั้งหลายเหล่านี้ จะนำมาซึ่งความสุขสงบ ความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของพืชพันธุ์ธัญญาหาร  และความเจริญรุ่งเรืองแก่ชีวิตและท้องถิ่นได้ จึงมีการทำบุญกันเป็นประจำทุกเดือน โดยมีชื่อเรียกประเพณีนี้ว่า“ฮีตสิบสอง”หมายถึงประเพณีทำบุญสิบสองเดือน คำว่า “ฮีต”หรือ “รีต”แปลว่า “ประเพณี”ที่เนื่องด้วยศรัทธาต่อพระพุทธศาสนา  ซึ่งคนอีสานถือว่ามีคุณค่าต่อชีวิต ใครประพฤติฝ่าฝืนหรืองดเว้น ไม่กระทำตามที่กำหนดไว้ ก็ถือว่าเป็นคนไม่ดีและไม่เป็นที่ยอมรับ ส่วนประเพณีผีตาโขนนั้น เป็นวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นของชาวจังหวัดเลย ที่หลอมรวมเข้ากับประเพณีฮีตสิบสองของชาวอีสาน เป็นเรื่องของความเชื่อ ในพระพุทธศาสนาและประเพณีนิยมพื้นบ้าน ที่สมาชิกในสังคมจะได้มีโอกาสทำบุญร่วมกันในชุมชน เป็นประจำทุกๆ เดือนของปี และได้สนุกสนานรื่นเริงไปในเวลาเดียวกันด้วย ผลที่ได้รับก็คือ ทำให้มีโอกาสได้พบปะแลรู้จักมักคุ้นกัน ทุกคนจะมีเวลาเข้าวัด ทำบุญและปฏิบัติธรรม ด้วยศรัทธาที่มีต่อพระพุทธศาสนาเพื่อให้เกิดสิริมงคลสำหรับชีวิตยิ่งๆขึ้นไป ทั้งยังทำให้เห็นว่าวัฒนธรรมพื้นบ้านเหล่านี้ทรงคุณค่าอย่างยิ่งต่อสังคมไทยอีกด้วย

ABSTRACT

This article is an academic article to focus on presenting an important content  about  the  folk culture called  "Phi Ta Khon" tradition and the relationship which  indicates on the  faith in Buddhism.  By the reason that Isan  is  the center of  ancient traditional   culture  and  Isan people are strict in traditions,  stable in Buddhism, faith in  local culture and  respected in sacred  and believe  that all these sacred things will bring peace,   abundance of cereal crops  and  prosperity to them. Therefore they have a merit  traditions  in every month  which called  " Heet twelve traditions"  . It  means  twelve merit  tradition festivals  which is held  one per month. The word  "Heet" or "Reet" means "tradition"  is due to faith in Buddhism  which Isan people are considered that this is valuable to life and their  society.  So,  who is violate or refrain to do that are considered as a bad person and unacceptable. As for the  Phi Ta Khon tradition is a local culture of Loei people that  merged to Heet  twelve traditions of  Isan people, it is the matter of faith  in  Buddhism and  for members of society  will have an opportunity to make merittogether in every months of the year  and have joyful at the same time.  The result is to have chance on meeting and  knowingto  each other.  Everyone will have time to go to  temple,  to make merit,   practice in Dhamma and they will have  more  faith in Buddhism which is  greater prosperity for life,  and it also shows that the folk cultures are extremely valuable to thai society as well.
