การพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวัดกับชุมชน

บทคัดย่อ

     วัดเป็นศูนย์กลางสำคัญในชีวิตของชาวไทยทุกคน พระสงฆ์ในฐานะผู้อยู่อาศัยและปกปรักรักษาวัดก็ย่อมจะมีบทบาทที่สำคัญมากในชุมชนไปด้วยโดยอัตโนมัติ บทบาทตามประเพณีของพระสงฆ์ประกอบด้วย การสอนธรรมะ เป็นพิธีกรในการประกอบพิธีกรรม ช่วยส่งเสริมความสามัคคีของชาวบ้าน ปลอบโยนประชาชนในยามเจ็บไข้ได้ป่วยหรือเวลามีทุกข์ และช่วยตัดสินปัญหาข้อพิพาทระหว่างสมาชิกของในหมู่บ้าน พระสงฆ์มีการติดต่อกับชาวบ้านทุกวันและพัวพันกับปัญหาของชาวบ้าน บทบาททางวัดเช่นนี้ถือเป็นการสนองตอบต่อช่องว่างที่รัฐบาลไม่อาจช่วยเหลือประชาชนได้ เช่น ขาดสถานที่เรียนหนังสือ ขาดที่รักษาพยาบาล ไม่มีระบบตำรวจและศาลยุติธรรมในการบริการทางสังคมและสวัสดิการชุมชน เมื่อไม่มีสิ่งดังกล่าวพระสงฆ์จึงเป็นผู้ตัดสินปัญหาความขัดแย้ง ทำการอบรมเด็กที่พ่อแม่ไม่อาจจะอบรมได้และช่วยอนุเคราะห์เด็กกำพร้า พระสงฆ์ช่วยสร้างและสั่งสอนเทคนิคขั้นพื้นฐานทางอาชีพซึ่งสามารถมาเรียนได้จากในวัด เช่น สถาปัตยกรรม ช่างไม้ ช่างก่ออิฐปูน ช่วยปรับปรุงการเกษตรและรักษาโรคด้วยยาแผนโบราณ สมุนไพร ต่างๆ เป็นต้น ดังกล่าวมาทั้งหมดนั้นจึงปฏิเสธไม่ได้เลยว่า วัดนั้นเป็นสถานที่ที่เกิดขึ้นมาเพื่อรับใช้ประชาชน ช่วยรักษาประเพณีและพิธีกรรม ช่วยสร้างความทันสมัยให้เกิดขึ้นและในขณะเดียวกันก็ยังนำเสถียรภาพมาสู่สังคม

Abstract

      The temple is the life center of every Thais. The monks are as the resident and protect the temple that play the major role in the community automatically. The traditional role of monks consists of Dhamma teaching, the ritual ceremony master, to support the harmony of villagers, condole the people  in case of sickness or suffering time, and help to judge the conflict problem of the village members. The monks have the contact with villagers every day and involve the problem of villagers. These roles of temple is the respond the people that government cannot help them such as lack of educational institution, lack of nursing place, no police service system and justice court for social service and community welfare. When it does not have these things, then the monks must be the conflict problem judge, to teach the children that their parents cannot teach them properly and help to support the orphans. The monks help create and teach the basic technique for the career that can come to study within the temple such as architectures, carpenter, building, help to support the agriculture and traditionally disease cure, herbal medicines etc.  Therefore, it cannot deny at all that temple is the place for people service, help to preserve the culture and ritual ceremony,  to create the modernity and at the same time to keep the peace stability to society.
