Tai Lue Woven : Wisdom of Woven Pattern in Pa Pi Community, Ban Ti Sub-District, Ban Ti District, Lamphun Province

Abstract


This research aimed to study wisdom of woven pattern of Tai Lue in Pa Pi community, Ban Ti sub-district, Ban Ti district in Lamphun province. The Scope of the study was Ban Ti sub-district, Ban Ti district. The informants were the members of Tai Lue woven group in Pa Pi community, Ban Ti, and Ban Ti district, Lamphun province. The woven had 7 patterns that were 1) Khajaelongtoo 2) Khajaekhong 3) Buakreur 4) Dokkwuk 5) Khor-aokwua 6) Khorliaw 7) SamKhor which were studied by using qualitative research methodology. The result showed that Tai Lue woven of this group was a wisdom inherited from generation to generation. Weaving was a local wisdom that the descendant derived from their experiences including exchanging the knowledges to other societies and cultures. Thus, the wisdom was form the experiences not only in area but also outer space and it was accepted by the people in the community.
