Gilandhamma Group of Volunteer Monks : A Study of the Format and the Process of Mental Healing for Patients with Dhamma.

Abstract


  This research purposes consist of three main objectives namely: 1) to study the format and the process of mental healing for patients with dhamma by Gilandhamma group of volunteer monks, 2) to synthesize the format and the process of mental healing for patients with dhamma by Gilandhamma group of volunteer monks, and 3) to analyze the assessment of the format and the process of mental healing for patients with dhamma by Gilandhamma group of volunteer monks.

This research used a mix-method research approach for research objectives and research questions. Qualitative approach consists of two parts: 1) In-depth interview of Gilandhamma group of volunteer monks, and 2) Focus group method. The purpose of this in-depth interview is to study dhamma and characteristics of volunteer monks and the process of mental healing for patients with dhamma. In the second part, researchers invited psychologist experts, Buddhist consultants, and the founders of Gilandhamma group for group discussion. The topic of discussion is the analysis of Buddhist principles, psychology and the process of Buddhist counseling to synthesize the healing for patients with dhamma. Quantitative approach part is the analysis of training program and the process of healing for patients with Dhamma of Gilandhamma group of volunteer monks.
